I have chosen my topic to be “The necessity and importance of proper nutrition”. I feel that this topic is important because of the illnesses that can manifest in a person because of unhealthy eating. Even the First Lady has taken a national stand against childhood obesity which is due to inappropriate nutritional habits. Which by the way, has been a problem in this country for the past 20-30 years. My idea or ideas of creating my scientific paper is mostly, so far, of obtaining statistical numbers reflecting the illnesses caused by the lack of proper nutrition. I believe I need to have more than just numbers and am missing the points or views that may complete this paper. I guess I have to read some more articles and see something I’m missing to add or transfer into this paper through summarization.

Great topic. I actually did a paper in Comp 1 about childhood obesity and the emotional problems that come with that. I was really very excited to write the paper because I was a heavy child and my girls are a bit heavier than I would like them to be. I would really enjoy reading your paper when you are finished. Good luck on your writing process. I still haven't settled on a topic.
ReplyDeleteHi Bruno,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that nutrition is extremely important.I wrote about childhood obesity and the health risks associated with it. I did get a really god grade on the paper. I was heavy as a child and became morbidly obese as an adult at my highest weight I was 445 pounds and I am half of that person. I am suffering the consequences of being morbidly obese. I am diabetic. I have suffered from cancer and 3 years ago I almost died from tonsillitis turned into cellulitis and then an abscess in my neck and ended up in a coma and had a 10% chance of making it I spent 42 days in the hospital and 11 days in a coma and 18 days in Intensive care. Here I am Thanks to God. If I can help you with your paper let me know and I am looking forward to reading your paper if I am allowed the chance.
Hi Bruno!
ReplyDeleteYou have done so many entries on your blog already...it's awesome! It gives us a kind of window into how our classmates think and what their lives are like. Your potential topic for your scientific paper on the necessity and importance of proper nutrition on health is a great one, especially because it is a subject that you will personally benefit from gaining knowledge about. I am finding that gravitating toward a subject that holds direct personal meaning or interest to us really helps our enthusiasm and focus on the paper. Each paper that I've done for my classes, I have chosen my subject by deciding what I most wanted to learn more about and using that as a springboard to write my paper from. The mention of Michele Obama's interest in improving the health of school lunches is a subject that directly affects my household as well, with 3 school-aged children, so I'm excited to see if real change will be implemented to help our children be healthier, resist obesity, and learn better. I can't wait to see hopw your paper will develop!
Hope it goes smoothly bruno!

Hey ladies. With all of your encouragement and support I better write a good paper. Its a blast having another means of communication with all of you. And I'd first like to thank you for being or getting so personal with your blogs. I love the transparency and reality of the issues we deal with not only in life but in school. I know i don't post or comment on a daily basis but I do read your blogs and hope and pray that your and my challenges be met and overcome. My writing skills need to be perfected but that comes through devoted practice and that is something I see in all of you. It's great that our teacher has enlightened me to blog. It gives me the sense that I am not alone in my struggles and also in furthering my education. i wish you all the best in your papers and perserverence in life. I try commenting on as many blogs as I can. So if I haven't hit your blog with some words of wisdom or compassion or support please keep an eye for it......it will come. Thanks again ladies.
